David Poole's work is marked by its diversity and lateralness. With a degree in fashion as a starting point he has worked as a Illustrator, designer, stylist. lecturer, consultant and, for the last 8 years, primarily as a photographer. Above all, David has found photography to be the outlet that allows him explore and develop further his experience and interests.

Visually his work is principally concerned with the play between apparent naturalism and the constructed environment inherent in fashion and portrait photography. The illusion of an individual character and the evocation of sentiment (either real or projected) is an underlying narrative in much of his imagery.

David shoots for commercial clients, advertising, fashion editorial, and portraiture while pursuing his personal and cross media projects. His current personal work is an exploration of portraiture with particular attention the National Portrait Gallery and multi-media drawing, and a photography project exploring the ideas of physical and subjective self as introduced in the illustration section.

David has worked for The Sunday Times Magazine shooting editorial features and portraits, Storm Model agency, McCann Ericsson, The Independent, Elle Decoration, Image magazine, Tatler and many more. For a full list see the contact page.
